Hello,

I am looking for a Braille printer. Would prefer to have translation software included as part of a deal. Let me know your price.
Thanks.

Do you care what brand the embosser is. I have a romeo 25, it does not have speech output but it works great, have had it less than a year. Depending on your preference, i also have translation software, I use buxberry. Let me know

Yeah, but since your embosser is so new, you would probably ask a couple thousand. Plus, I want one that has speech output so thanks.

I have a Tiger Cub Junior, about six years old but still in pretty good condition. No speech, but it does have a beep-based system so simple tu use that probably a five-year-old could figure out what each beep means. It can also emboss graphics if need be. Alas I don't have Duxberry, though I think that the software that goes with it has a basic translator. I didn't test that part of it since the only thing I needed it for was to print out graphs and the occasional printing from my note taker. Would be willing to sell it to you for $1500 if interested.

Also, from what I've seen in my experience with embossers, you'd have to search pretty hard to find one that talks. Most that I've seen rely on beeps and tones to tell you what's going on.

Ok, correction. Turns out Braille Blazers do have speech. My mistake. Still, I hope you give mine some thought. Forgot to mention, price is negotiable within reason.

Hi man,

Wow, I wish I could have gotten that. I just purchased an Index, with speech feedback, for $2,065. Although, it has a USB port and a network port, 2 ports the cub doesn't have. Now, I am just in the market for translation software.

Anyone have Duxbury less than $400? Would be willing to trade tech stuff.

Nathan

Yeah I'm looking into a braille printer myself. I'm on such a tight budget right now but I would love to look into one. And is it possible to send Jpeg images to the embosser that you would send to a regular printer?

I'm not sure about that. You can create graphics with a free software from Duxbury called Quick Tac.
Nathan. Also, I have an Index Braille embosser that you could buy if you are interested. It will work with Windows 7, but you will need a parallel to USB adapter and a copy of Duxbury too. I am asking $1000 for the printer. Works great!! Have had it for at least 10 years and have never had a problem with it.

I would be interested in the Tiger Cub JR. Does it have the paper feeder as well?

Post 11 by CrazyMusician (If I don't post to your topic, it's cuz I don't give a rip about it!) on Wednesday, 25-Jul-2012 15:22:57
